Aimably/CloudHealth FLEX Report Instructions - AWS Cost & Usage Report

The instructions below are for Aimably clients which do not have access to the AWS Billing Console, but do have access to CloudHealth. Clients may create the CUR as a CloudHealth Flex Report. Below are instructions on how to create a Flex Report containing AWS CUR data and delivering the report to Aimably for use.

Create a CUR using the CloudHealth Flex Report - (VMWare Tanzu CloudHealth - Flex Reports)

  • In CloudHealth, navigate to Reports > FlexReports.
  • Click New Report

  • Configure the parameters to the following specifications:
    • Name the report Aimably CUR
    • Select AWS Cost & Usage Report as the Dataset
    • Select Day as the Aggregated by method
    • Select Current & last month as the Range

  • Configure both the Dimensions and Measures to include all standard AWS Cost & Usage Report data

         

  • Click Add Measures
    1. Select Standard from the Show menu
    2. Open the Discount  accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    3. Open the LineItem accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    4. Open the Pricing accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    5. Open the Reservation accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    6. Open the SavingsPlan accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    7. Click the Apply button
  • Click Add Dimensions
    1. Select Standard from the Show menu
    2. Open the Bill accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    3. Open the CostCategory accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    4. Open the Identity accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    5. Open the LineItem accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    6. Open the Pricing accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    7. Open the Product accordion row and select all checkboxes listed
    8. Click the Apply button

       

  • Save the report

Configure the FlexReport for Delivery via Email

  • Select the more actions (ellipses) button next to the Aimably CUR report and choose Subscribe.
  • Configure your subscription options for daily delivery
  • Repeat: How often the report should be sent. - Daily
  • Deliver as: Deliver the subscription by email or to an S3 bucket. - Email
  • Deliver to (email): The email address where the subscription will be sent. - Use the email address generated in the Aimably wizard

  • Run & Deliver at: Time the subscription will be sent. - Anytime after 2am UTC
  • Start and End Date: The time range for the subscription. - Choose the preset Current & Last Month
